When The Soul Travels.....

I love the feeling of the freedom of travelling. The pure pleasure of doing the simple and yet making it different, although walking in downtown Toronto has always been enjoyable.

Montreal was in itself a wonder, the streets were alive and full of people,  beautifully lit up shops enticed  and the bright lights and buzz of the city stirred me and my companions.
Time seemed to stand still and sore feet were put on the back-burner to leopard print sweaters and 10'inch heels with spikes.

What am I living for?...... weekends with sisters and friends in Montreal

Travelling Inspirational Quotes.....

"What you've done becomes the judge of what youre going to do - especially in other peoples minds. When youre travelling, you are what you are right there and then. people don't have your past to hold against you. no yesterdays on the road."

- William Least Heat Moon

"When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of

our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will

happen to us that we dont know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in."

 D.H. Lawrence

Life is appreciating the simple things

In my early years, stopping to smell the roses was quite simply just a cliche. Somewhere between fine lines and wrinkles and a fast paced life, stopping to smell the roses just happens. I walk slower, hurry less and enjoy the quiet more. It's my life and I make my own rules.......

Be fearless
Take chances
Break the rules
Forgive quickly
and last ...but not least... kiss slowly.

This morning as I had my purse in tow, my trusty cell phone in hand  and my dogs leash wrapped around my wrist. My husband leaned over to kiss me and I rushed a kiss and hurried on my way.
Walk the dog, drive to work stop for coffee.

Hmmmm I thought as I was driving  .....
kiss slowly.....
I cant back-up and do it again but I will be sure to do it right the next time.
With this melancholy thought I stopped and admired the roses In the front entrance at my work place.
Today, I did stop to smell the roses and actually I took a picture.....enjoy!

Nothing says Autumn like this....

A walk in the park so to speak.... is exactly what me and my dog Niko did Sunday afternoon. The leash in one hand and my camera in tow, I could not help but stop and stare at natures beauty. At times I was so in tangled in him and his leash I wondered if , me, the dog. the leash and the camera were ever going to find balance.

But balance is exactly what we all found. I stood surrounded by a kaleidoscope of autumn colours with only the clicking of my camera and the rustling of the leaves..The trees were swaying and the sun was shining. The leaves floated down gently, then rustled quickly all around the floor of the earth. Niko and I called a truce, both walking gently alongside each other smelling the clean air of fall.

I'm living for moments like this........

“Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.”

Robert Frost
